Lesego Seoketsa came to the French Riviera to stay and work in the Makwande Art Residency, ONG run by its fonder Nomaza Nongqunga Coupez.
This multidisciplinary young creative who graduated of the same fashion school in her native South Africa as the new artistic director of AZ Factory Thebe Magugu, was promoted by Nomaza who found a growing potential for the works of Lesego on the European market.
Lesego Seoketsa uses painting and photography as a form of self-expression. In the process of creation she is searching for the answers of what freedom means to her as a black female artist, what is time, beauty and feminity, where is the place of a woman in the modern society and how much it has evolved.
Her eye-catching canvases with a childish touch, full of colours feature female characters in variety of life scenes.
